UTS is committed to creating an inclusive work environment for all academic and general staff. The UTS equity and diversity policies, statements and strategies reflect the diverse range of initiatives implemented to achieve this goal.
Services for prospective and current staff include:
- programs,
- resources,
- training and development, and
- equity-related complaint handling advice.
Consultation
UTS receives advice and support from a range of equity and diversity committees and consultative groups. Staff are encouraged to contact and participate in governance and decision-making at UTS through the various committees.
Equity-related complaints
Staff should seek advice about situations in the workplace where they believe that discrimination or harassment may have occurred. The Equity & Diversity Unit provides a confidential equity-related complaint service.
Improving access and participation
UTS implements policies to ensure that all staff are employed under the principles of equal employment opportunity.
In addition, specific employment equity programs are developed and implemented for staff in the target groups covered by the NSW Anti-Discrimination Act.
