The Equity & Diversity Unit works with faculties and units to initiate and coordinate a range of programs and projects to promote access, equity, diversity and social justice at UTS.

- Gender representation on committees
- Grievance handling advice
- Faculty equity profile updates for students and staff
- Training tailored to local needs
- Equity-related grievance advice
- Anti-discrimination and affirmative action legislation advice
- Educational access and community outreach support for under-represented groups
- Advice / provision of EO observers on committees for general and academic staff recruitment, and for academic promotion
- Guest lectures and presentations to student and staff groups
- Workplace Disability Fund support for workplace modifications and specialised equipment to assist staff with disabilities
- Work Training Placement Program - on the job work experience for people with disabilities
In addition, the annual equity reports produced by UTS contain valuable, up-to-date information about strategies and progress in meeting targets for both student and staff equity programs.
