EO Observers for Selection and Promotion Panels
Observers from the Equity & Diversity Unit participate in selection, promotion and salary supplementation panels at UTS to provide advice to panel members on process, policy and equity issues.
Equal Opportunity (EO) observers participate in all academic promotion and salary supplementation rounds in accordance with UTS policy. The EO observers also participate in selection panels at the request of the Convenor or the applicant, to provide advice on equity and procedural issues, and to gain insight into issues arising for job applicants.
Equity considerations identified from the above processes are reported to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and the Human Resources Unit. Briefing sessions for panel members for academic promotion contain information on the equity responsibilities of the panel members.
