Schools Outreach
UTS is committed to encouraging high school students from all backgrounds to consider university as an option for further education.
UTS schools outreach programs provide students and their families with more information and first hand experiences of UTS courses and university life. These programs are aimed particularly at students who are the first in their family to consider a university education and students who attend schools within the NSW Priority Schools Funding Program (PSFP).
UTS Schools outreach programs include: U@UTS Day is a schools outreach activity to which Year 11 students are invited to attend a one-day university taster program at UTS. UTS works with schools to offer activities to students from Year 8 and onwards to help them learn more about what university can offer and how they can prepare themselves for entry to courses they are interested in. UTS hosts open days, including UTS Information Day, held in August each year and UTS Advisory Day, held in January each year. School/TAFE group visits and tours are organised by the UTS Schools Liaison Unit. UTS has developed a school to uni guide, the U@UNI book for high schools students in Years 10,11 and 12.
Schools and students who would like to participate in UTS schools outreach programs can call the Equity and Diversity Unit on 9514 1084 for more information about upcoming events.
