UTS is a public-purpose institution with a distinctive, genuine commitment to social justice. Our operations and culture are informed by principles of equity, diversity and inclusion.
Diversity and inclusion
We value diversity in our community, while upholding strategies, policies and cultural practices that create a welcoming environment for all.
UTS has a long, proud history of engaging in inclusive practice through the UTS Equity and Diversity Unit. In 2019, the Equity and Diversity Unit merged with the Centre for Social Justice & Inclusion to unite our efforts to support fairness and equality at UTS with our university’s broader vision of positive social change.
Our equity practitioners work alongside other professional staff in the Centre for Social Justice & Inclusion to further the university’s social impact agenda and catalyse transformative change.
Strategies and policies
Equity, inclusion and respect are part of our core values at UTS.
There are many strategies and policies in place at UTS to ensure a safe and equitable environment for all members of our community, and to provide the support for our people to thrive. Many of these policies are overseen by the Centre for Social Justice & Inclusion. We work inclusively with members of our community to ensure that our culture embraces diversity and supports everyone’s needs.
