In mid 2007, UTS students were invited to design a poster for the University's ongoing SHOUTS campaign. We were seeking bold and engaging designs, with strong visual impact that effectively communicates the SHOUTS message to all students and staff.

A large number of high quality entries were received, making judging a difficult task.

Judging took place in September 2007. The panel consisted of Tania Creighton, University Curator; Jacqueline Gothe, Senior Lecturer, School of Design; Shahnam Roshan, Senior Graphic Designer, and Daniel O'Neill, SHOUTS Program Coordinator.

The entry chosen to be the new SHOUTS poster was designed by UTS student Chad Huang. It will be distributed for display throughout UTS in Autumn Semester 2008.

You can view and download the new poster here (pdf, 23KB).

About Chad Huang:

"As a Internetworking student, I don't have a design background, but that didn't stop me being inquisitive. Visual Design has always attracted me, especially when it comes to web design."

"Winning the SHOUTS poster competition was unexpected. I fired up Photoshop and after a few hours I wound up with 5 draft designs and surprisingly, one of them was chosen as the winner. Participating in this competition was a very rich experience for me and it's definitely encouraged me to do and learn more about design in the future."
