Our Programs and Services
The Equity and Diversity Unit provides programs and services for UTS students and staff, and for members of the community from equity target groups who are interested in studying or working at UTS.
The Unit also provides information and advice to managers to assist them to meet their responsibilities for the implementation of Equal Opportunity at the Faculty / Unit level.
Key services provided by the Equity & Diversity Unit
- Support for educational access by disadvantaged and under-represented groups
- Advice and assistance in recruiting for diversity in employment
- Grievance handling advice and assistance for discrimination / harassment complaints for students, staff and managers
- Assistance in the development and implementation of local level equity projects and strategies
- Advice on anti-discrimination legislation
- Consultation with equity stakeholders
- Design and facilitation of equity and diversity training
- Coordination of equity planning and research
- Monitoring, evaluation and reporting on equity programs and outcomes
- Development of equity-related policies

The Unit administers a number of grants, scholarships and funds to assist students and staff from equity target groups.
