Equity & Diversity Unit
The Equity & Diversity Unit was set up by the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) in the 1980's, to promote access, equity, diversity and social justice for all staff and students.
The Unit supports the day-to-day running of university programs and services in relation to:
The Unit's work helps UTS to:
- Redress past exclusion and discrimination against particular groups of people in our community
- Create an equitable work and study environment for everyone
- Support the state and federal governments' commitment to equal employment opportunity, affirmative action and the inclusion of people from diverse backgrounds in study and work
- Provide advice and assistance in equity-related grievances
The Equity & Diversity Unit also advises on equity issues arising from UTS' strategic priorities such as flexible learning, internationalisation and organisational development.
